Below are some tips on the storage and use of your BOW LABEL - or any other, jewelry.
When you're not wearing your jewelry you should keep them in a dry place, such as a closet or drawer. If you keep your jewelry in areas with high moisture (such as the bathroom), the moisture will make the sterling silver pieces tarnish.
Jewelry boxes are a good place to keep your jewelry, but bear in mind that doing so does not protect the sterling silver jewelry from tarnishing and oxidation.
All BOW LABEL jewelry have a high quality plating, but to keep your jewelry looking as good as new, try to avoid direct contact of the jewelry with water and chemical products such as soap, perfume, lotions etc. as these can damage the finish and appearance of the gold and rhodium plated product.
As far as possible do not wear jewelry when in the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna/steam room or while bathing or showering. Chlorine, detergents, oils, moisturizers & perfumes can all cause tarnishing and damage to jewelry and it's finish.
Remove jewelry when doing household tasks in order to avoid impact with hard surfaces as much as possible.
In order to maintain the finish and quality of your BOW LABEL jewelry; gently wipe jewelry clean with a soft cloth after use to remove chemicals (e.g. oils, makeup, perfumes, dirt) which may have transferred on the jewelry during use.
FACTS ABOUT STERLING SILVER
Your jewelry is made of 925 sterling silver and all BOW LABEL jewelry pieces have a surface treatment. It's natural for these surface treatments to fade over time because of the jewelry's contact with other jewelry, clothes, hard surfaces and fluids such as sweat, perfume, hairspray, etc.
If you purchase a gold-plated item from BOW LABEL, it has generally three layers of more of 24 carat gold. Even though this treatment is of high quality, it is normal for the finish to gradually fade with heavy use giving a slightly faded appearance. Polishing and regular maintenance will delay this fading and maintain the original finish. A new layer of plating can also be arranged if the fading is significant.
Daily or very frequent wear of course may speed up the dulling of the piece, especially on items like rings and bracelets which have more frequent contact with abrasive or textured surfaces and perhaps other jewelry with harder surface.
You should treat your BOWL LABEL jewelry like any other wardrobe item.
Just as clothes and shoes must be maintained i.e. washed, cleaned, repaired, the same holds true for jewelry. Please maintain the surfaces of the jewelry regularly as mentioned, check movable components such as locks and clasps for firmness and of course do not pull at delicate details of the jewelry such as chains and tips.
The gold plating can benefit from a new gold layer after significant fading.
What if the jewelry breaks?
Although all BOW LABEL jewelry is carefully quality checked and constructed to be robust and worn regularly; occasionally a break can occur. If the break is the result of a production fault, please take it back with a receipt to the place of purchase.
